  JEWELRY STORE OWNER DIES AT 48 Ralph S. Miller, 48, owner and operator of the Ralph S. Miller Jewelry store in Alvardo died yesterday while working in his store. Miller of 7305 Falmouth in Forest Hill was born in Fort Worth and lived in this area all his life. He had repaired watches for more than 30 years and had owned a jewelry store on East Seminary Drive for about 15 years before selling it several years ago. Miller worked in wholesale jewelry for several years after that before opening his new shop about four months ago. He was past vice president of the Texas Watchmakers Guild, past president of the Fort Worth Watchmakers and Jewelry Guild and a member of the Dallas Watchmakers Guild. He was also a member of the Deer Creek Masonic Lodge in Everman, the Alvarado Lions Club and the Glen Garden Country Club. He was a Baptist. Surviving are his wife, Virginia; his mother, Mrs. Vivian Miller of Fort Worth; two sons, Douglas and Richard Miller, both of Fort Worth; a daughter, Mrs. Sherry Voncille Tucker of Euless; two sisters, Mrs. Virginia Watkins of Fort Worth and Mrs. Rena Poole of Houston; one brother, Buck Miller of Houston; and three granchildren.
  He was promoted from Polytechnic Elementary to Junior High School in 1939. His certificate of promotion is in the file. He has a certificate from The National Rifle Assoication of American for a completed course in Rifle instruction dated 1943. Certificate in file. He received a certificate of qualification as Basic Rifleman 1st Class from the National Rifle Association on Dec. 22, 1943. Certificate in file. In Nov. 8, 1944 Ralph received a certificate for completing a course of 108 Class hours in Advanced Engineering Drawing No. 9. Certificate in file.
  Ralph served in the Military from 6 Nov 1945 to 30 Dec 1946. He obtained the rank of Technician Fifth Grade shortly after entering the service. He served as a cook in San Antonio, Texas about 5 months before being transfered to Ft. Belvoir, Va. where he was a Photolithographer 107 and attended a Map Repro- duction Course. Military Orders issued in April 1946 for Ralph to cook on a troup train of soldiers being sent to Fort Jackson, S.C. are also in the file and a list of the men being transferred.
  A copy of his discharge is in his file. His Serial No. 38776022.
