a. Note:   Obituary records maiden name of Kate as Davaghan, has been verified to be correct as GAVAGHAN, by census, marriage certificate and license.
  Researching the passenger lists of 1884 which will take some considerable time and effort. Thousands of immigrants came to America at that time through several ports and on many ships. I have also discovered that on the 1900 United States Census, James was still an alien. Therefore, looking for avenues to explore.
 I have attempted to locate more information on Place of Emigration through Church Marriage records. Unfortunately, the Church did not start recording background information until much later (1920), and then it was only done in certain parishes.(notes of Kathy Philipcuk)
