a. Note:   Residence: 72nd and Lowe, 7047 S. Eggelston, 75th and Michigan, 7014 Steward, several addresses because the family would move at the end of lease. Finally settled with Michael's in-laws, the Monahans.
  Occupation: Sheet metal worker, Pennslyvania Railroad, during depression he maintained income by working handyman jobs. He was a very talented craftsman. He loved to hang beautiful detailed wallpaper and never revealed the seams. When he lost his business during the depression years, John Hennessy (Peter R. Dixon's Father in law), asked Michael to rebuild the back porch at 1423 103rd St. Chicago. Those stairs still stand today.
  History: Was a sheet metal worker with business located at 6800 Halsted. Lost business during depression. Did much handyword to support family. The family would move when lease expired. Eventually, moved in with his in-laws. Addresses are listed above. Michael had contracted tuberculosis, which caused the removal of one lung. He was a heavy smoker of Lucky Strike cigarettes. He had false teeth. A streetcar was taken by Peter and his mother (Jean) to visit Michael at the Tuberculosis Institute on the northside of Chicago. Michael is recalled as a very quiet man, who was a very hard worker. The depression was hard on many men of his time, and Michael was no exception. He died on March 2, 1966 at the age of 67 at St. Georges Hospital (78th and Vincennes, Chgo.). He is buried at Holy Seplucure Cemetry.
