a. Note:   Elizabeth Linkszweiler is reported by Moots researchers to be the Mother of the Moots sons, Charles, Philip, George and Conrad and the wife of Johann Michael Motz or Moots. She is not mentioned in the settlement of his estate in April, 1803, so must have been desceased by that time. A Barbara Moots received monies from John's estate, but it is not clear if she was a daughter or wife. Further research is needed.
  There is often another son Emanuel Moots attached to this family. He supposedly was born in Germany and died on the voyage to this country. No source is given for his existence.
