a. Note:   [Gordon.ged] William Vernon Widner COLQUITT � William Vernon Widner, 71, of Colquitt, died Saturday, October 11, 2003 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. today at Mount Olive Holiness Church, with burial in Gordon Cemetery. The Rev. Tim Mock officiating. Born June 20, 1932 in Miller County, Mr. Widner was a retired Agricultural Parts Salesman at Sunbelt Equipment Company and of the Methodist faith. He also a member of the American Legion Gerald Grow Post No. 165 and William M. Wilson VFW Post No. 6046. He also served on The Colquitt/Miller County Housing Authority. Survivors include his wife, Peggy W. Widner of Colquitt; a son, Greg Widner of Colquitt; a daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Scott Lawson of Colquitt; five brothers, Coy Widner of Conyers, Willard Widner of Auburndale, FL, Ray Widner and Larry Widner, both of Colquitt, and Claude Widner of Marianna, FL; a sister, Faye Skipper of Donalsonville; three grandchildren, G.J. Widner, Nikki Widner and Isabella Lawson. Pallbearers are Walter Snodgrass, Jerry Phillips, Carlton Skipper, Gary Rentz, Cole Tyler and William S. West; Honorary pallbearers are the American Legion and the VFW members.
