  COLQUITT -- The nightmare that began Friday night for Brian Gay's family and friends continued Monday afternoon in this small town the Thomasville police officer called home.
  Gay, 28, a Miller County native and Thomas County resident, died early Friday evening in a Thomas County motorcycle accident.
  He was buried Monday at Colquitt City Cemetery with the full law enforcement honors afforded a fallen officer and the praise reserved for God's faithful servants.

  Obituary for Brian Allen Gay
  Services for Brian Allen Gay, 28, Thomasville, formerly of Colquitt, were at 2p.m. Monday, August 6, 2001, at Colquitt Funeral Home Chapel. Interment was at Colquitt City Cemetery. The Rev. Tim Mock officiated. Pallbearers were the Thomasville Police Department Honor Guard. Mr. Gay died Friday, August 3, 2001 in Thomasville. He was born July 24, 1973 in Miller County. He was a detective with the Thomasville Police Department. He was a member of the Thomas County Special Response Team or "SRT" and the Police Benevolent Association. He was a Field Training Officer, Crime Scene Specialist, and had received the Educational Achievement Medal, Department of Good Conduct Medal, and the Meritorios Service Award. He was a member of Mt. Olive Holiness Church. Survivors include his mother, Janice Gay of Colquitt; father, Roger Gay of Colquitt; sister, Charity Case of Paden, Okla.; brother-in-law, Kelly Case of Paden; and maternal grandparents, Jim and Lollie Westbrook of Colquitt. He w! as preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Gay.--Colquitt Funeral Home.
