Note: William A. Greim was born on September 28, 1911 at 10P.M. according to his birth certificate from the Board of Health, Div. of Vital Statistics, Phila., PA. Joseph J. Greim married Anna M. Edgar in 1910 according to the 1910 census record. They lived at 2745 Ringgold St., Phila., Pa. when he was born. Joseph Greim, his father, is listed as an electrician, age 26 and Anna M., his mother, is listed as age 22. The attending physician is A.M. Schnorr, 1317 N. 8th St. - - -See his record of birth and astrological chart. He was named after his father's youngest brother, William Amadeus. Bill attended Philadelphia grade schools during his early years of education. He moved to Langhorne, PA, attended and graduated from Langhorne High School. He returned to Philadelphia and attended Philadelphia School of Art for two years. He then went to New York City to probably "get away from it all" and worked as a waiter there living with a friend he met through work named Happy Adams. He met Katherine Golembeski during this period. She followed the same path as he did when she was about 22 and moved to New York City with a cousin Julia, both from Norwich, CT. Bill and Katherine married on February 17, 1936 and stayed in NYC until after the birth of their first child Sondra Pauline. They then moved to Taylorsville, PA where Bill opened an antique shop producing hand-made wrought iron items such as lanterns, sconces, candlesticks, gates and railings plus other metal work made of copper, tin and brass. The First World War changed their life. The hand-made items were no longer able to sell during the war, so Bill went to work at Roeblings in Trenton, NJ and worked as a manager of a group of men during this time span. At some point after the war, he went to work for M&M Plumbing and Heating where he worked until his retirement in 1975.
