Note: Born in Zernick, approximately 9 kilometers north of Gleiwitz in Upper Silesia area of (then) Germany. Immigrated to USA in 1928. Occupation: Owner of grocery/butcher store located at 210 Lawrence Ave, Lawrence, NY. Lived at rear of store until moving to Arbuckle Ave, Cedarhurst, NY in 1952. After retiring from business in 1964, lived briefly with son Edward in Glen Farms, MD. Moved to Babylon, NY in 1965. When Bridget became ill, sold Babylon home and lived with son Edward in Wilmington, Delaware until shortly after Bridget's death. Moved to Vista Royale, Vero Beach, FL. Visiting son James in Pepper Pike, Ohio at time of death. His body was cremated in Ohio. His cremains are buried in St. Joseph cemetary, Babylon, N.Y. next to wife Bridget and mother Christiana. Medical: Suffered a mild heart attack in 1952?, recovering completly. Other conditions: hay fever, high blood pressure, hip replacement result of arthritis, cateract removal, pre-cancerous skin condition. Suffered from congestive heart failure for several years before death. While visiting son James in Pepperpike, Ohio, he was taken ill with a perforated stomach ulcer. An operation closed the perforation but the ordeal of surgery was apparently too much for his weaked heart. He technically died of kidney failure. He lived to be 86 years. Religion: Catholic See "Reminiscences" by Kurt Heinhold, an autobiographical sketch written in 1993. Emigrated to U.S. aboard SS NEW YORK which left Cuxhaven on 18 May 1928 and docked in New York harbor 28 May 1928 without passing through Ellis Island.
