John Harrison Carter's birth is recorded in the Newry Town Records and can also be found in the Provo 3rd Ward Record of Members. John's obituary appeared in the Utah County paper, City and County Jottings, on Apr 22, 1896. His death is also recorded in the Provo Register of Deaths and Burials, 1858-1915. In Carter Pioneers of Provo Utah references to him can be found on pages 37, 59, 133, 136, and 415.
