Note: RESEARCH NOTES: James and Cora's marriage is recorded in the Pike County Marriage Record. On the marriage record, Cora's name is recorded as "Scorey Mortin." Their children are listed in the <I>Prairie Farmer's Directory of Farmers and Stock Breeders, 1918-1919</I>. Cora died when she was 56 years old. James lived another seven years, always with children in his household. James' death certificate can be found in Illinois Death Certificates. Both he and Cora appear in >I>Cemeteries of Pike County</I>. A family group record for James Marden Sweat and Cora Marie Morton, submitted by Gale Paul Sweat, is in the LDS Archives.
