Note: Sarah Brown was with the Carlton family on the 1840 and 1850 Census. Nancy Shaner, her great great granddaughter, has a history written by Sarah Brown Carrell. She tells that Mary Ann Carlton raised her after her mother died. The history, "A Sketch of My Life From Childhood" was published as part of a newspaper series, "Story of the Mormons in Pike County" by Mrs. Pearl Orrill in the Pike County Democrat Times on July 17, 1963. Sarah became the second wife of Aaron Carrel. His first wife died after the birth of their second child. Aaron and Sarah's marriage is recorded in the Pike County Marriage Record. The family can also be found on WorldConnect at RootsWeb in the GEDCOM of Larry G. Henschen, "Fenton, Cone, Goodspeed Genealogy."
