Note: RESEARCH NOTES: Maryette appears in early church records such as the Early Church Information File and the Manti Ward Record of Members. Her birth is recorded on page 407 of Carter Pioneers of Provo Utah. Some records place her birth in 1842 instead of 1841. The Manti ward record, her first marriage record, and her age at death all agree with the 1841 date. Maryette became a polygamous wife of John Ivie when she was 15 or 16. Their marriage is recorded in Nauvoo Sealings although they were married in Utah. They had four children before their marriage ended. A record of Maryette's marriage to William Abner Haws has not been found but they appear often on the census together. He helped her raise the two surviving children from her marriage to Ivie. William and Maryette are buried in the Provo Cemetery.
