Notes
a. Note: RESEARCH NOTES: Dominicus "Mink" was born while John Carter and his wives were living in Nephi, Utah. By the time he was 6 they would have been living in Provo. His birth is in both LDS and Reorganized Church Records. A short biography of Dominicus was published in Utah Pioneer Biographies. It tells of Dominicus helping the Clark boys grind up bark for the tannery which their grandfather operated. There is also a story of Dominicus swimming a pair of oxen across a flooded river to take flour to one of his Uncle Dominicus' wives. Dominicus married Charlotte "Lottie" before marriage records were kept in the Provo area. The date of this marriage was found in the Family Records of Robert Duke posted in WorldConnect at RootsWeb. three of Mink and Lottie's children died at birth; three others as young children. Only the youngest of these children appears in the Provo Cemetery records. They were perhaps buried on the famiy farm. A published record of this family is in Carter Pionees of Provo Utah. Dominicus' death is recorded in the Provo Cemetery Records.
