Note: RESEARCH NOTES: Besides the census, Augustus has been found only in records about his death. He appears in the Pike County Death Records and in CiDCemeteries of Pike CountyC/iD. The most confusing thing regarding this couple relates to their burial. Augustus is buried by three of his children, Clara and Elmer, who died very young, and Mary D. Klemme, who was the wife of Edward Klemme. There is a large marker in the Blue River Cemetery with their names on it. But the marker does not mention Augustus' wife, Ella K. Kennedy, nor Mary's husband, Edward Klemme. This seems even more puzzling in light of the fact that Edward Klemme lived with Ellen and Mary after his marriage to Mary. They appear together on the 1920 and 1930 Census. So where are Ellen Sweat and Edward Klemme buried and when did they die? CENSUS: United States,1860, Pike county IL Newburg Twp 107/107 (John A Sweat household) "Augustus age 5, b.
