a. Note:   RESEARCH NOTES: Mary Ann was born before her parents made the trek to Utah as the Spanish Fork Ward records indicate. Both her birth and death dates can be found in the Reorganized Latter Day Saint Deceased Members Files. She is buried in the Chambers Cemetery. A biography of her husband has been published in History of Harrison County Iowa. Mary Ann's children appear to all have been adopted. In 1880, David and Mary Ann had an adopted son, Nephi Chambers, living in their home. After David's death Mary Ann was guardian for Nellie M. Knight and Mollie E. Chambers. I have been unsuccessful in determining what happened to Nephi, but both girls appear on the 1925 Iowa State Census living near Mary Ann.
