Russell Blanchard, Jr., became pastor of St. Paul's United Met hodist Church in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, in 1992. He aggregated recor ds of baptisms, marriages and deaths for the church, from 1860 to 1997. Al so included in his work are general membership records as well as a bri ef history of St. Paul's. Over the years the church suffered many flood s. Several of the record books have been lost to flood waters. Books conta ining records from 1865 to 1868, 1885 to 1895, and 1930 to the present rem ain. Transcriptions of those records as well of those that were reconstruc ted after the floods are following. The very best effort has been ma de to accurately read these records and preserve them considering their po or condition. It is possible that records before 1860, if any, may be fou nd at Grace United Methodist Church. St. Paul's is located at 118 Vine Str eet Harrisburg, PA 17104. Stoner is listed as having been in the Spanish American W ar in 1898. Grandpa Stoner would have been 29 years old. (Barbara Minerd e -mailed some photos of the Church, the cemetery and the gravestone on 9/5/ 04. She said the Church and cemetery are "2.5-3 miles from Fayette Count y, just over the county line in Greene County. It is a nice, tranquil sett ing.) A William Henry Stoner (or Charles R. Stoner) was listed as having serv ed as Pa. Sgt. Co L (or I), 330th INF WWI. WH would have been age 45 in 19 14, Charles would have been 20.
