 (headline) D.G. SMITH DIES
 (body) Special to The State. Ridgeway, July 7. D.G. Smith was found dead in his bed this morning at the home of his son, T.E. Smith. Mr. Smith was 86 years of age, a Confederate veteran, and a good citizen. He is survived by seven sons: T.E. Smith, R.B. Smith and W.J. Smith of Longtown; F.C. Smith of Ridgeway, D.F. and J.W. Smith of Columbia; Herbert Smith of Lincoln, Neb.; and only one daughter, Mrs. Lizzie Harris of Akron, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at Longtown Presbyterian church Friday morning at 11 o'clock, the Rev. B.H. Franklin and Rev. Willie officiating.
