Ridgeway, July 7. D.G. Smith was found dead in his bed this morning at the home of his son, T.E. Smith. Mr. Smith was 86 years of age, a Confederate veteran, and a good citizen. He is survived by seven sons: T.E. Smith, R.B. Smith and W.J. Smith of Longtown; F.C. Smith of Ridgeway, D.F. and J.W. Smith of Columbia; Herbert Smith of Lincoln, Neb.; and only one daughter, Mrs. Lizzie Harris of Akron, Ohio.
