OBITUARY FOR WILLIAM JONES SMITH: (newspaper: unknown) (published July 6, 1944)
(headline) W.J. SMITH DIES AT LONGTOWN
William Jones Smith, 61, died suddenly from a heart attack, at his home in the Longtown community, where he was born and had lived his entire life. He was the son of the late E.G. Smith (sic) and Mrs. Lizzie Raines Smith. He was never married and is survived by one sister, Mrs. R.M. Harris, of Akron, Ohio, and three brothers, Thomas E. and Clifford F. Smith, both of Ridgeway, and Hurbert Smith of Charlotte, N.C. Funeral services were conducted at eleven o'clock Saturday morning at the Longtown Presbyterian Church, and interment was in the family plot in the church cemetery.
