  Mary Sue's birth date is given as 28 Feb 1793 in William Speer, Jr's Family Bible. However elsewhere in the bible her age at death (4 Sep 1879) is given as 86 yrs, 6 mos, 4 days; which indicates that her birthdate was about 1 Apr 1793. Mary bought the house in 1876 from Mrs. Elvira Prather. She apparently lived here until her death in 1879. William, Jr. lost his Monterey plantation in Oct 1875. He and Mary moved into the Prather (now Eva Phillips) House in Lowndesville.
