  Elizabeth's tombstone reads: "SACRED to the Memory of ELIZABETH ANN SPEER. Wife of John Speer and daughter of John and Elizabeth Caldwell. Who departed this life on the 27th July, 1851, Aged 62 years 2 months and 27 days. In her death the Presbyterian Church, of which she was a consistent and useful member through life, has sustained an irrepairable loss. She died as she lived, a Christain, in the full assurance of a blessed immortality beyond the grave."
