In David's petition the children of his deceased son Robert were shown as Betsey Ann, Andrew Thompson, Eliza Jane, and two other chidren not named in the petition. !MILITARY: Served in the SC Militia as a Private and in the War of 1812 NOTE: The service in the War of 1812 has been logically questioned as he would have been 60+years old. The entry remains only to determine further if the David Strain in Roster of Ohio Soldiers in the War of 1812 Vol. 2 Page 381 is in fact this David or his son David Fletcher.) !UNCONFIRMED: Date and birthplace. !RESEARCH: On 3 Jun 1827 four years after David's death his wife Sarah Ann presented her son for baptism at Rocky Spring Church.Levi must have been born before 1823 or 1824. !OBSERVATION: David Strain's (Strean) RIN #1201 of Pennsylvania will lists a JAMES CALDWELL as a witness. This David named his first child JOHN CALDWELL. I wonder if there is any connection?
