Found on Ancestry.com - Missouri Birth Records 1805-1980.
Screen showed St Louis City Birth Records ledger but it was about 90% impossible to read any of the entries. No identification numbers were given either.
I do NOT know why his name was not recorded as GERICHTEN. His mother, Nellie Lavely Gerichten, apparenty moved back in with her parents and changed her last name to GRIFFIN.
