a. Note:   BIRTH RECORD The civil registration of the birth certificate of Elizabeth Sudworth
 states the following:
  1. Elizabeth Sudworth was born on April 22, 1865, at Downall Green,
 Ashton in Makerfield.
  2. The mother of Elizabeth Sudworth was Ruth Sudworth, formerly
 Fairhurst.
  3. The father of Elizabeth Sudworth was James Sudworth.
  4. James Sudworth was a ship smith. (Elizabeth Sudworth's marriage
 certificate and her baptism record state her father's occupation as
 blacksmith.)
  5. James Sudworth signed the registration form with an x.
  Holy Trinity from 1838 on was the church that served those living in the
 north end of Ashton in Makerfield, including the Downall Green area where
 Elizabeth Sudworth was born. Microfilm of the register of Holy Trinity
 is not available through the Mormon library. However, the Wigan Records
 Office does have this microfilm, and provided information by E-Mail
 stating that:
  1. The date of birth was April 22, 1865.
  2. The date of baptism was June 4, 1865.
  3. The parents were James and Ruth Sudworth.
  4. James Sudworth was a blacksmith.
  1881 CENSUS
  At the time of the 1881 census, Elizabeth was working as a live-in
 domestic at the Ashton in Makerfield home of Robert McGill, a land and
 mines surveyor.
  OTHER
  The International Genealogical Index incorrectly gives her month of birth
 as September. The IGI also gives the place of birth as North Ashton.
 The Downall Green area where Elizabeth was born is in the north end of
 Ashton in Makerfield, and is next to North Ashton.
