  !Abel Dolby appears in the 3rd Series Volume 13, Penn Archives p 423 1784 Richland Twp l house 5 inhabitants. This wouldindicate there were two children older than Nathan as he was born in 1784.Abel Jr. would have been one of the children and Samuel probably was the other. The names given in the history were not given in chonological order.

A letter in my possession,dated November 16, 1963 from Lovena Bowles, grandaughter of Joel gives thechildren of Richard D'Albey and Susannah Harris as follows: Joseph md. HannahStonebridge; Aaron md. Tracy Marple (note should be Tacy); Joel b. 27 June 1777 md.1. Eliza beth Smith . md. 2 Nancy Curry; Rachel md. a Moore; Elizabeth marrieda a Bumgargner (note Jesse Bumgarner); Martha; Israel. Polly is notlisted in Lovena's record. Lovena's record comes from the Joel Dalbey Bible. It has since been lost. Lovena states in her letter as follows: "Thecontents of the bible is just grandfather's birth date and birth dates of his childrenby Nancy Curry which I have given you. This early history I have my AuntEllen Dalbey told me in 1913 when I visited her at Springfield, Ohio. Shehad a remarkable memory and I wrote as she told me, about Richard Dalbey andhis children."A Richard Dalbey married Ann Williams in Chester County in1750. In checking the early records of Chester County, Penn. the Williamsfamily contain given names of Abner, Abel and Nathan. Circumstantialevidence points to Richard Dalbey as the father of Abel.
