a. Note:   Herman Was born the third child of Willhelm and Bertha on 24 Febuary 1886. He was Baptised at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Pilot Knob on 21 March 1886. Witnesses were Herman Zude, Theo Dettmer and Willamine Ginther. After 1900 Herman moved to St. Louis Mo. The St. Louis City directory of 1906 shows he and his brothers living together. No mention is made of Bertha or her daughters. it is my belief that she died between 1900 and 1906.
 1910 Census shows Herman married to Lilly , and Their one year old daughter Viola. Their son Herman Edgar was born, 1 July 1911
 Herman registered for the draft in the Army September 12 1918. However he enlisted in the Navy, 30 Nov. 1905, and retired 23 Aug. 1942 The 1930 Census shows Him in San Diego, married to Emma.
