Note: Family tradition says that Lazar was a very tall and strong man. He once drove another man several inches into the ground just by lifting him up and setting him down again. It is also believed that he was 104 when he died and that he left a child of 14 years of age. This may have been his youngest daughter Bertha or possibly another child who remained in Eastern Europe. -kjm
from my mother's notes: Lazar ran a lumberyard and taught his son Joseph how to make shingles.
