Note: 6 years of his life in that same area in the same house. His parents were buying the home in which they resided. While living there, his father was not only a Minister of the Gospel but he was also a farmer. Prior to Lester's 18th birthday, the family moved to 12 West Second Street in Georgetown, Illinois. It was while living there that his father became ill and died. Lester, at the young age of 17, was the informant on David's death certificate. I have no idea whether the family remained in Georgetown or whether they returned to the Edgewood area. Shortly after his 18th birthday, Lester married Zora Fern Moreland. She may have been his childhood sweetheart. 1910 Larkinsburg Twp, Clay Co, IL census-- Towles, D.E...head..w/m..46..married 18 yrs..IL..Unknown..Unknown; Rosy..wife..w/f..46..married 18 yrs..2 children/2 living..IL..Unknown..Unknown; J..son..w/m..16..single..IL..OH..IL; L..son..w/m..10..single..IL..OH..IL. 1920 Larkinsburg Twp, Clay Co, IL census from Jan-- 32/32 Towles, David E..head..rents..w/m..62..married..naturalized citizen/able to write..MO..KY..IL..farms; Rosa M..wife..w/f..47..married..naturalized citizen/able to write..able to read and write..IL..MO..IL; Lester O..son..w/m..16..single..able to read and write..IL..MO..IL.
