a. Note:   Peter Eichenberg was baptized into the Conestoga Church of the Brethern (Dunker) in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania in May 1752. He lived in Pennsylvania until land in Virginia opened up and then moved to Virginia. (From History and Geneology of Brubaker and other Swiss-German Families Mormon Family Library tape 0874430, Item 1).
  Since Martinus Eichenberg and family apparently lived in New York City it is assumed that Peter went to Pennsylvania by himself. His sister was born in 1724 so it is assumed that Peter, being the fourth child was born somewhere around 1730. Since he was a younger son, he probably left home when he came of age as younger sons often did, and went to Bethel Township, Lancaster, Pennsylvania where he was baptized into the Dunker Church. Whether he married (...)Groff before or after is not known.
