  Lucy's brother Calvin brought Lucy and her family to Milam county after Sanford Nicholas Caffey died in 1925. They lived in a small farmhouse on his farm for several years.
  Caffey, Mrs. Lucy of Rockdale. Age 92. Died 12/1971 (in paper 12/30/1971). Services held (Wed.) at the Phillips & Luckey Funeral Chapel in Rockdale. Burial in Salty Cemetery. Rev. D.D. Simpson, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiated. She was born 9/10/1879, nee Lucy Eiland, in , Montgomery Co, Al Came to Texas with her family at age of 8 yrs. and lived in Milam Co. the remainder of her life. Married Nick Caffey in 1893. He preceded her in death in 1925; also 8 children. She was a member of the above church. Survivors: 5 daughters, Mrs. Pearl Brown of Houston, Mrs. Nancy Brown of Rockdale, Mrs. Lois Riley of Alvarado, Mrs. Snowdy Green of Austin, Mrs. Nubbie Christian of Rockdale; 2 sons, Garland Caffey of Rockdale and J.D. Caffey of Houston; 30 grandchildren; 71 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren.
