a. Note:   In the 1850's, Daniel moved his family to Hart County, KY. He enlisted in the Union Army in 1863 and was discharged in 1865.
  In 1872 he left his family in Hart County and went to Petersburg, Menard County, IL to work at the trade of farming. He remained in Petersburg until 1884, when he went to Kansas for a couple of years, and then returned to Petersburg. Land was given to CW vets in Kansas. It's possible Daniel had a land grant. Daniel was with Parthenia for a time in 1892. In 1893 - 1895, Daniel was living with his daughter, Martha Knight Wallace in Waverly, Morgan County, IL.
  In 1896, Daniel was living in a military home in Montgomery County, OH. He is listed on the 1900 census of Hart County, KY. Daniel was in Louisville at a daughters' at the time of his death.   Nancy (RIAH1120@@aol.com) sent me the following: 1870 Ky census - David Hazelwood, 41, farmer. Census taken on June 4th, page 12, household 84/83
  David is buried in a Louisville cemetery, military section. Information on Daniel and his family is from "The Gipson Family History" sent to me by David Hazelwood and Gracie Hazelwood Gipson.
