Note: Edward fought in both the French and Indian War and the American Revolution . His grave in the Bristol Cemetary has a marker placed on it by the R. I Society of the Sons of the American Revolution "Sacred to the Memory of Capt. Edward Talbee, who departed this life March 22, 1807 in the 76th year of his life. He distinguished himself as an able officer and undaunted soldier in the conquest of Canada under Johnson, Abercrombie and Amherst in the Campaign from 1755 to 1760." In tyhe DAR Repository it also states that he served as a private (in the Revolution?) under Cols. Lippett, Ellicott, and Crary. According to one source Edward's sons Edward, Jr. and Stephen also fought in the Revolution. Edward is is the 1790 census with 1 male over 16 as head of household, 1 male under 16 (possibly some sort of help, since he had no sons that age) and 1 female. Edward is in the 1800 census as head of a household. He is listed as the only male over 45. There is a female in the household who is also over 45. His wife Anstis died in 1796, so either one of his daughters is there, or he has a housekeeper. (Census before 1850 did not list anyone by name except the head of the household)
