a. Note:   This work on Elias is in the beginning stages and I hope to add much more as time progresses.
  The parents of Elias are currently unknown although I strongly suspect that they were Zachariah Mattingly and Catherine Knott. He is found in Marion County during the 1850 census with one child. His age was shown as 28, suggesting he was born in 1822. He and Mary are also found in Marion County during 1860 with five children in the home. His age is shown as 35, suggesting a date of birth of 1825. I have not found them yet during 1870 but in 1880 they are in Marion County with five children at home. Elias, Mary "Polly" and most of their children were buried at Smock's Chapel in Marion Co. KY.
