Crandall, 79, Milton, who died Sunday were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Milton Seventh Day Baptist church, the Rev. Elmo FitzRandolph officiating.   Burial was in Milton cemetery. Before his retirement in 1945, Mr. Crandall had been in the grocery and meat business here for 33 years, part of that time in partnership with Loyal Hull.   Since 1945, when health permitted, he operated a riding academy near Eagle River. Mr. Crandall was president of the Milton Cemetery association, vice president of the Bank of Milton and for many years was president of the Building and Loan association here.   He was a member of the Milton Seventh Day Baptist church and the I. O. O. F. Du Lac lodge. The son of Henry F. and Lucinda Cottrell Crandall, he was born Oct. 25, 1872, in Milton Junction.   The family moved to Dennison, Ia., that year and went to North Loup Neb., by covered wagon.   The family moved to Mississippi in 1888 and he went to Farina, Ill., to live with an uncle while attending high school.   In 1893 he was married to Mary Frances Carlisle in Farina, and they marked their golden wedding anniversary Aug. 9, 1943, two months before her death. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Walter Hudson, a grandson, John Hudson, and a brother, Fred A., all of Milton.   A son, Harold, two sisters and a brother preceded him in death.
