Floyd C. Vincent, 85, who resided with his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Paul G. Kaase, Milton, died unexpectedly early Tuesday morning at Albion, Mich. He was admitted to the hospital in Albion Sunday evening after becoming ill while en-route with his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Harold R. Baker, for a visit in their home at Lansing, Mich. Funeral services will be held at the Milton Junction Seventh Day Baptist Church Friday, June 4, at 2:30 p.m., the Rev. Addison Appel officiating. Burial will be in the Milton Cemetery. Friends may call at the Albrecht Funeral Home, Milton Junction, Thursday (tonight), June 3, from 7 to 9 p.m. Mr. Vincent, the eldest son of Joseph G. and Artilda Garlock Vincent, was born July 28, 1879 in the Rock River district north of Milton Junction. He was married to Mignon Whitford Nov. 29, 1905, at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Algernon Whitford. They farmed in this area until he retired and moved to Milton in 1948. He continued with his specialty of growing melons until 1960. Mr. and Mrs. Vincent celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary in 1955. Mrs. Vincent died June 17, 1960. He served as clerk of the Rock River district school board for 27 years. He was also a 25 year member of the Milton Grange, and a member of the Milton Junction Seventh Day Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Paul (Beulah) Kaase of Milton, and Mrs. Harold (Doris) Baker of Lansing, Mich.; three grandsons; 11 great-grandchildren, and three brothers, Charley of Minneapolis, Minn., and Lawrence and Ezra of Chippewa Falls. Preceding him in death besides his wife, also were an infant son, two sisters and one brother.
