Allen Henry Viney, 73, of 123 E. High Street, Milton, died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 1999, after a short illness. He was born Sept. 4, 1926, in Janesville, the son of Lloyd and Veva Viney. He enlisted in the Navy and served during World War II. He retired in 1978 from more than 30 years at General Motors. He married Kathy (Soergel) Schumacher on June 2, 1990. He was a bus driver for Sayre & Riteway Bus Companies and was a retired volunteer fireman in Milton. He also belonged to the Milton FFA Alumni, Milton Masonic Lodge #161; Madison Scottish Rite, ZOR Temple in Madison and the mini-car unit of the Southern Wisconsin Shrine Club. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife, Kathy of Milton; three sons, Dr. Michael (Rhonda) Viney of Platteville; Randal (Debra) Viney of Milton, Ronald (Cindy) Viney of Canton, Mich.; one daughter, Janet (Peter Kaufman) Viney of Madison; two stepdaughters, JaLayne (Otis Hawkins) Schumacher, of Milton and Jill (Mike Chapman) Schumacher, of Monroe; three grandchildren, Gayle, Brett, and Joshua Viney; two brothers, Dale (Sandra) Viney, of River Galls and Rev. Richard (Jan) Viney, Branson, Missouri; mother-in-law, Lena Soergel, of Milton; two sisters-in-law, Janet (Eldred) Mielke, of Milton, Teddy (Jerry) Patterson of Janesville, and brother-in-law Ken (Kay) Soergel, of Milton; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers: Robert, Donald, Roger and Clair Viney. Funeral services were held Friday Nov. 19, at Hope Lutheran Church. A memorial has been established in his name. Albrecht Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
