Lyle B. Zimmerman, 76, of Milton, died at his home early Sunday, Aug. 29, 2010.   Lyle was born on March 16, 1934 in, Humbird, WI, to the late Clarence and Otillie (Jahn) Zimmerman.   Lyle was a proud member of the Army and served his country during the Korean War.   On Aug. 31, 1957, he would marry Ora May Powell in Beloit, WI.   Lyle worked as an assembler at General Motors for over 31 years, retiring in 1989.   He has been a member of the Methodist Church for over 50 years.   He was a past Commander and lifelong member of the Becker-Godfrey VFW Post 9403 in Milton, American Legion Post 173 in Whitewater, Janesville Moose Club 197, Local 95 UAW, AARP, and loved to fish and watch the Packers and Brewers. Lyle is survived by four sons: Dale (Eileen) of Janesville, Douglas (Faye) of Milton, Dennis of Milton, and Donald (Connie) of Edgerton; three daughters: Susan (Daryl) Wilson of Coeur d'Alene, ID, Betty Zimmerman of Yoder, IN, and Donna (James) Spude of Grayslake, IL; 16 grandchildren: Chrissy, Becky, Abby, Holly, Kari, Derek, Adam, Rachael, Lucas, Leah, Caleb, Cody, Danielle, Derrick, Jordan, and Joshua; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Matthews of Black River Falls, WI; in-laws: Wayne Dietz of Milton, John (Joyce) Powell of Afton, Margie (James) Hanlon of Milton, Barbara (Donald) Jones of Whitewater, Elaine (Linda) Powell of Janesville, and Bev Powell of Milton; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.   He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ora May Zimmerman; one brother, Harold Zimmerman; two sisters, Vivian Cronk and Ilene McNeely; and in-laws: Dave Powell, Beverly Dietz, Floyd and Charlotte Tews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010, at the Milton United Methodist Church, with Pastor Patrick Schultz officiating.   Burial will follow at Milton Junction Cemetery, with military rites.   Visitation will be held on Tuesday at the Whitcomb-Lynch-Albrecht Funeral Home, Milton, from 4 until 7 p.m., and from 10 a.m. until the start of the service on Wednesday at the church.   Memorials may be made in Lyle's name to HospiceCare Inc., or the Milton United Methodist Church.
