  Athalia Adaline Van Horn was born at Welton, Iowa, October 19, 1859, the daughter of Amanda L. and A. Van Horn, and died at her home in Riverside, Calif., October 24, 1948. She was the sister of two of our ministers, C. C. and T. J. Van Horn, and her sister Cordie became the wife of another, D. Burdett Coon. She, herself did not realize her ambition to become a missionary, though her missionary interest continued strong even to the end. She was married Aug. 5, 1876 to John G. Hurley who died in 1924.   She is survived by their four sons and two daughters: Perley B., Archie R., Francis H., Victor H., Iva M., and Dora L.   Also surviving her are nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.   Among the best known of her grandchildren is K. Duane Hurley, former editor of the Sabbath Recorder. Farewell services, attended by a large crowd of church people and friends, were held at Riverside with Pastor Maltby and two former pastors, E. S. Ballenger and G. D. Hargis, participating.   L. M. M.
