Taylor, St. Louis, St. Louis Co., MO <http://ww1.elkharttruth.com/know/obits/PrintGuestbook.aspx?ID=310279983&year=2010>: ELKHART -- William "Bill" Fackert III, 71, of Elkhart, passed away Sunday, Oct 24, 2010, at 11:37 a.m. at Elkhart General Hospital. Bill was born June 2, 1939, in St. Louis, Mo., to William Jr. and Alice H. (Andrews) Fackert. He graduated from St. Louis Prep. School, received his B.S. in psychology from IU and his master's in psychology from USC. He was a U.S. Army captain and veteran of the Vietnam War. He was stationed prior to Vietnam in Germany and served as a member of the NSA. On Jan. 20, 1968, he married Sally Lambdin, who survives in Elkhart. He retired from Employers Security and had formerly worked with his father at Panel Corp. Bill was a member of the Military NSA Group, past chairman for the American Killifish Association and was a knowledgeable military historian. He is preceded in death by his father. Surviving are his wife, Sally Fackert of Elkhart; his mother, Alice H. Fackert of South Lyon, Mich.; and a brother, James (Rhonda) Fackert of South Lyon. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, 2010, at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home, 700 E. Jackson Blvd., Elkhart. A graveside service with military honors will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29, 2010, at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery, where burial will take place. Memorials may be given to World Wildlife Federation, and online condolences may be sent to family by visiting www.wmzfh.com. Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
