Note: John was a brother of the Rev William Martin who was active in the Revolutionary War. He was a Covenanter preacher who had brought five ship loads of people to SC. Deeds were found of ground given to his brother John, etc. Through history of Rev Martin they found his father was David Martin, Londonderry, Ireland. He had four children. (I have since found from the Family History Society of Martin, that there were five children, the first of whom was David b.1727)
David W. Martin from Australia has informed me of the following: Dave & Kathy MORRIS of 246 Treasure Drive, Red Bluff, CA 96080 submitted to the Mormon IGI Index that:
David MARTIN born Ireland 1700 - whose children were: David b. about 1727; William b. 16 May 1729, John b.c. 1731, ---- MARTIN b.c. 1733, and Mary b.c. 1735.
