Note: uana Falero y Velez. His name appears in several of Juana Falero's documents as her father. A Falero descendant informed me that the Falero men were great ones to have a marriage plus a "Querida" on the side. Rafael Falero y Machin is the only one of the Rafael Faleros who is age appropriate, and living in the vicinity. This is a working theory and is not proven yet. ( VB 09 Apr 2016)

1843/44 -- BIRTH/BAPTISM: On 01 Jan 1844 in the parish of Nuestra Senora de la Concepcion de Juncos, Jose Rafael, the legitimate son of Dn. Rafael Falero and Da. Mariana Machin of Valenciano was baptised. He was born on the 16th of the previous month (Dec 1843). Godparents were Dn. Francisco and Da. Juana Maria Rodriguez. NOTE: Grandparents not listed. The record shows his father Rafael is 56 years old born in the Canaries. Mother Mariana Machin is 50 years of age born in the Canaries. There are 7 siblings of the child Rafael in the household at this time. The page is badly stained and all of the children's names cannot be read. Those that can be made out are Francisco, 18; Jose, 12; Tomas, 9. The ages of the remainig children are 16, 14, 10, and 7. All the children were born in Juncos. The oldest looks like Esequina (Ezequiel), 5, and the next is Pr****tiba (Primitiva), 2. He was born in Juncos, is married, of the Roman Catholic faith, can read and write, and is a proprietor by profession. His wife is Rosa Rodriguez y Denis, 29, born in Juncos. Children in the household are son Ezequiel Falero y Rodriguez, age 11; unreadable daughter (Primitiva), age 9; daughter Reperada, age 7; son Serafin, age 3; and Santiago, 7 mos. 1886 -- Rafael Falero is on a list of those people who were verified from the last census as having left the community. Listed with him are his children Ezequiel, Primitiva, Reparada, Serafin, and Santiago. Also listed is a Mulatto family by the last name of Falero: Luis, Juana, Braulio, and Catalina. This family has lived in the vicinity of Rafael and his brothers for many years. Notably missing from the list is the name of Rafael's wife, Rosa Rogriguez which most likely indicates she is deceased. 1887 -- DEATH: Don Rafael Falero y Machin, native of Juncos, 45 years of age, day laborer, and living in the barrio of Anton Ruiz, Humacao, died at 12 o'clock in the morning on 2 Sep 1887 as a consequence of asphyxia for which an autopsy was ordered. He was the legitimate son of D. Rafael Falero and Da. Mariana Machin, both natives of the Canary Islands, who had lived in Juncos, now deceased. At the time of death, the deceased was married to Jacinta Garcia with whom he had a daughter named Petra. By his first marriage he had 5 children named Ezequiel, Primitiva, Reparada, Serafin, and Santiago.
