Note: Obituary - Published Seattle Times 27 Feb 2008 Violet Martha Clark Violet Martha CLARK Age 96, died on Feb. 15, 2008. Violet was preceded in death by her son Tex E. Clark, Sr. and her daughter, Norma Jean Cunningham. She is survived by daughter Sharon Smalley, granddaughter Shannon O'Brien and Shannon's partner Chris Hawkins. She is also survived by son Nolan C. Clark and wife Judie; by Lloyd Cunningham, surviving spouse of Norma Jean; and Mariquita Clark, surviving spouse of Tex Sr. Violet is further survived by grandchildren Meghan, Colin, Cathy, Michael, Lisa, David, Craig, Cindy, James, Tex Jr., Alice, Michelle, Adonais and Susan; great-grandchildren Amy, Arleah, Daniel, Joshua, Callie, Tyler, Bridgette, Amanda, Bill, Kyle, Keegan and Shay; great-great-grandchildren Alexis, Zoey, Brayden and Quinn; and by son Tony L. Clark with wife Jacquelyn. Violet was born in Enid, OK in 1911 and moved to Washington in 1936. She has lived in Seattle since 1962, her last years in Gig Harbor. A true matriarch, she will be missed terribly. Mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother - we love you, ALWAYS AND FOREVER. She was born June 20, 1911 in Enid, OK and moved to Toppenish in 1936. Violet was preceded in death by son Tex E. (Mariquita) Clark of NM and daughter Norma Jean (Lloyd) Cunningham of CA. She is survived by children Tony L. (Jackie) Clark of Pateros, Nolan C. (Judie) Clark of Yakima and Sharon R. Smalley of Seattle as well as her brother Melvin (Nita) DeMarsh of Seattle. She leaves behind numerous grand, g.grand and g.g.grandchildren. She was an avid reader and lover of her Irish-French heritage. She was a strong-willed lady who valued her independence and doted on her family. She will be missed by all. A memorial service will be held in Seattle March 1, for family, relatives, and friends
