Note: N40 Farmer. Came to Iowa alone in 1871. Breeder of pure bred horses. Bought big house in Traer next to school. It was built by Mr. Baker and he lost money had to sell. This house went to Lola and John eventually after Youngs and Ames left their farm. This house was lived in by John and Lola for 40+ years, and is still called the �Ames house� even though a new family has lived in it since the early 1970s. It is a beautiful Victorian next to the school in Traer.
