Monday, Aug. 2, 1976" SIDNEY R. MOON
Sidney Robert Moon, 41, of 204 White St., Valdese, died today at Catawba Memorial Hospital at 2:30 a.m. Death was unexpected.
Born January 18, 1935 in Madison County, Ga., he was a son of the late J.P. and Gladys McCarty Moon. He was a Navy Veteran of the Korean War and was employed as Plant Manager for Alba-Eiser in Valdese.
He was a member of the Joppa Masonic Lodge No. 401 in Old Fort, a member of the Lovelady Eastern Star No. 147 in Valdese, and a member of the Valdese Optimist Club.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Carole Sellers Moon of the home; three sons, Larry Allen Moon of the U.S. Air Force stationed in Fayetteville, and Jay Thurman Moon and Robert Brian Moon, both of the home; two brothers, David Andrew Moon of Commerce, Ga.; and Marvin Reid Moon of Colbert, Ga.; and two sisters, Mrs. Ernestine Fleming (Kenneth Fleming) of Athens, Ga. and Mrs. Ann Embry (William Embry) of Danielsville, Ga.
Masonic rites will be conducted in the Greenville Memorial Gardens, Greenville, S.C.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 4 p.m.
The family will receive friends tonight at Kirksey Funeral Home in Valdese from 7 until 9 o'clock.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lovelady Chapter of the Eastern Star No. 147 or to the Lovelady Masonic Lodge No. 670.
