North Carolina LIVED ON SECOND AVENUE, JUDSON, GREENVILLE, GREENVILLE COUNTY, SOUTH CAROLINA. -------- A letter from Billye to Grand Mother Case - no date "Dear Aunt Roxie: I'm so glad you are getting along much better - and I appreciate Jim's call so much - Please take good care of yourself and when you can, drop me a note. Love, Billye P.S. Please tell Jim there is an historic marker at BENT CREEK across from the little cemetery with LEWIS BURGIN McBRAYER, who was Dr. J.K.S. Case's nephew and the person Uncle "Boo" was named for. Dr. Case's sister married A. McBrayer and their son was Dr. L. B. McBrayer. Her name was LOU CASE McBRAYER and she is buried in the big cemetery in Asheville with her son WILEY WELLS - who, by the way, married Dr. and Mrs. Case!!!" END OF NOTE The son Wiley Wells, did marry Dr.John and Josephine. I think it was Larconia "Lou" Case's husband who married Dr.John and Josephine. Lou's child, William WELLS (what happened to first husband, Wiley Wells, I wonder?), son of Larconia (listed on 1850 census as Larconia Wells and no husband, but one child, William), was born 1850. Larconia "Lou" Case's husband, Wiley Wells was born about 1826. Dr. John was born 1840. This is what I have on the first marriage of Dr.John & Josephine: ----------------------------------------------- "I saw behind me those who had gone, and before me, those who are to come. I looked back and saw my father, and his father, and all our fathers, and in front, to see my son, and his son, and the sons upon sons beyond. And their eyes were my eyes. As I felt, so they had felt, and were to feel, as then, so now, as tomorrow and forever. Then I was not afraid, for I was in a long line that had no beginning, and no end. And the hand of his father grasped my father's hand, and his hand was in mine, and my unborn son took my right hand, and all, up and down the line that stretched from Time That Was, to Time That Is, and Is Not Yet, raised their hands to show the link, and we found that we were one, born of Woman, Son of Man, made in His Image, fashioned in the Womb by the Will of God, the Eternal Father."
