Note: [FamilyGeneratons.FTW] Yes, I know quite a bit about the region around Sanok. It was a town of 4262 Polish, 551 Rusyns (Ruthenians), 270 Germans, and 21 "other". There were 2073 Roman Catholics, 902 Greek Catholics, 17 Protestants, and 2129 Jews. This information was from 1880, from the Slownick Geografinicy (17 volume listing of all the towns in Poland published 1880). The Cleveland Public Library has one, plus all the Polish dictionaries you need to translate it slowly by hand. Sanok is kind of the "county seat". It's in Southeastern Poland, due southwest (left) of Lvov (Ukraine), midway between Przemsyl and Krosno farther west (right to left direction!). It is in the Bieszczady Mountain range (part of the Carpathians, I believe), in an area somewhat resembling the Allegheny mountains here in Pa.
