NAMES OF LIVING HAVING BEEN REMOVED Rockfield- Howard Wilbur Rock Sr, 70, died at 7am Friday in his home here. Mr Rock was a retired Indiana State Highway Department mechanic and also formerly operated a salvage yard in Delphi. Born in Lafayette, he lived in Delphi before moving to Rockfield. He was married in 1952, in Lafayette, to Mary Pirtle who survives. Mr Rock was a member of Lafayette Pentecostal Church. Surving are six sons from a previous marriage, Wilbur, Herbert, ---- and ---- Rock, all of Lafayette, ---- Rock of Canton, Ohio, ----- Rock of Delphi, and ----l Rock of Rockfield. Also four daughters from a previous marriage, Ethel Worth, ----- Ingle and------ Shaw all of Lafayette, and ------ Stewart of Delphi, ----- Rock of Lafayette, ------ Rock of Delphi and ----- McTigue of Rockfield, one step son----- Warren and a step daughter----- Wertsbaugh both of Lafayette.Surviving are 37 grand children and 17 great grand children. A brother and one sister preceded in death. It is possible that she died in infancy although I do not know if this child was conceived during the marriage to Herbert Rock or to James Coulter. Their daughters ----, ------ and ------ use to give me all of their Barbie items. I remember loving going there and getting Barbie clothes and cars and all kinds of good stuff. My grandpa Rock also had a Garage where he worked on cars for people. He also had a Bicycle salvage yard type place where he would have scraps of bicycles and kids would come to him to get parts for thier bikes. The home that they lived in was very dilapitated and since his death in 1984 it has been torn down.[fkr]
