a. Note:   Handed down: Plato was a large blue-eyed man with prematurely gray hair and a pronounced Irish brogue. He raised cotton and horses for surrey racing. His home was a two story white framed house with detached kitchen connectd to the main house bya a covered porch. The 1900 census shows he owned his farm which consisted of eight buildings free of mortgage. He was a religious man and a Methodist preacher. According to this daughter Ida, he said, "Sallie may not believe as I do but , this Plato, he is going to heaven. His last words (which are inscribed on his tombstone were "I am willing to go. I trusted God. Meet me."
 Plato is buried with a Woodman of the World headstone. His wife Sallie and daugher Ella are buried beside him.
