  Martin Hay, 88, of Martha, died Tuesday in Humana Hospital in Louisa following a long illness. Mr. Hay was born Sept. 22, 1899, in Lawrence County, a son of the late John Franklin and Rebecca Lester Hay. His wife, Georgianna Fannin Hay, died 1982. He was a retired carpenter and was a member of the Elizabeth Enterprise Baptist Church at Martha, Carpenters Local Union 472 in Ashland, and Jake Rice Masonic Lodge 606 in Blaine. Surviving are seven daughters, Leola Evans of Martha, Clotine Blankenship of Titusville, Fla., Ileana Blackford of Urbana, Ohio; Glenora Nickels of Mount Clemens, Mich.; Agnes Ross of Baltimore, Ohio, Reda Wright of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, and Carol Barker of Catlettsburg; five sons, Graden Hay of Sebring, Fla., Adrian Hay of South Vienna, Ohio, Gerland Hay of Columbus, Ohio, Carson Hay of Ashland and John Frank Hay of Louisa; a sister, Pruda Kitchen of Blaine; a brother, Milton Hay of Springfield, Ohio; 30 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at the Lewis & Ferguson Funeral Home in Sandy Hook by Albert Holbrook Jr., minister. Burial will be in the Elliott Memory Gardens in Sandy Hook. Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at the funeral home.
