Note:   "My father Charles D Cook did not write down the names of his grandparents, and I cannot recall if I ever knew their given names, so this is as far back as I can go on his side of my own knowledge and information. I recall when I was young at home that there was a commission or warrant of some kind with a large seal on it, as does my younger sister Mrs C P Hinshaw of Ladysmith, Wis., but our father remarried after the death of our mother and it disappeared.
