BURIED AT CURLING GRAVEYARD NEXT TO HER PARENTS DIED OF TYPHOID FEVER AT THE AGE OF 7. Mamie Evelyn's Pappy walked and carried a small cedar tree from the "Coalins" to mark and place at her grave. He notched the tree with the setting of the sun, so that he could place it back into the earth the same direction as it grew. This tree still stands today as a memorial for his love for her.
